About Bone Loss & Tissue Regeneration

About Bone Loss & Tissue Regeneration

Having properly shaped bone and soft tissue to support your teeth or implants is important for both your appearance and your health. If brushing techniques or disease have caused you to lose gingival tissue, or if you’ve suffered bone loss because of injury or disease, you might be able to get back what you’ve lost through bone and tissue regeneration.

HOW DOES TISSUE REGENERATION WORK?

If your teeth have been missing for an extended period, Dr. Nevins can use growth factors to reduce the amount of surgery you’ll need as well as your healing time. As a pioneer in this field and as a clinician who has done extensive research on the growth factors used to rebuild bone damaged by periodontal disease or tooth fracture, Dr. Nevins can replenish your bone and generate the tissue needed to ensure successful implant placement.

Dr. Nevins and his entire clinic team are outstanding. I’m generally terrified of things like this, but they went above and beyond to make both myself and my parents feel comfortable every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Bone Loss and Tissue Regeneration

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Bone Loss and
Tissue Regeneration

WHAT IS BONE LOSS IN THE JAW AND HOW CAN IT BE TREATED?

Jawbone loss occurs when the bone that supports your teeth or dental implants begins to shrink due to periodontal disease, missing teeth, injury, or infection. Bone loss can affect both your oral health and facial appearance. Bone and tissue regeneration treatments rebuild lost bone and soft tissue, helping restore a strong, healthy foundation for your teeth or future dental implants.

CAN BONE AND TISSUE REGENERATION PREPARE ME FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Yes. Bone and tissue regeneration is commonly used to rebuild the bone needed for successful dental implant placement. If teeth have been missing for some time, the jawbone may no longer have enough volume or density to support implants. Regenerative procedures help restore the necessary bone structure, improving implant stability and long-term success.

HOW DOES TISSUE REGENERATION WORK FOR BONE LOSS?

Tissue regeneration uses advanced growth factors and biotechnologies to stimulate your body’s natural healing process. These techniques encourage new bone and soft tissue growth while reducing surgical trauma and recovery time. This approach allows for more predictable outcomes and helps create the ideal environment for long-lasting oral health and implant support.
